Successful London scores on doors scheme expanded

London Scores on the Doors stickerThe London Scores on the Doors Implementation Group has met representatives of other five-star schemes and agreed in principle to the aligning of scoring approaches to arrive at one consistent five-star scheme.

When we were first establishing the London pilot, the Food Standards Agency restricted the number of authorities outside London who could use the London scheme to about 10. However, now that phase is complete, the London Group would like to invite any other authorities to use the London scheme.

This offer extends to the use of the procedures and documentation and the branding and logo, including stickers and certificates. The condition of use of the logo, stickers and certificates is that the principles of the actual scheme are consistent with London, including any evolution of the scheme following the agreement mentioned above.

The London procedures and documents are available on the CIEH London portal.

The London scheme logo and branding has already started to become recognised as being synonymous with Scores on the Doors. We would like to build upon this recognition by making the materials available nationally to LAs wishing to use it. A major benefit for authorities is that there is no need for costly design, printing, sourcing of suitable materials or mailing houses as this has all already been done.

Local authorities simply need to place a telephone order to receive the supplies and will be invoiced for the cost of materials and postage and administration. New supplies of the stickers are already in production. The certificates are printed on special watermarked paper for security and the template allows for the Local authority's logo to be printed.
