Practical cooling tower inspection training

Cooling tower drawing

With a high concentration of cooling towers the City of London have considerable experience at inspecting cooling towers with regard to the control of Legionella.

They now offer a training course on 7 July 2011 specifically for EHPs with little or no experience or that want to refresh their skills. The training will be delivered by experienced EHPs that currently undertake this work. Delegates will gain the confidence and knowledge to undertake a cooling tower inspection and will leave with training, checklists, example procedures and answers to any questions asked.

The course will cover what a cooling tower is, the different types of towers, what the different parts of a cooling tower do, water treatment programmes, the control measures you would expect to be in place, work at height, how to conduct a safe inspection, and subsequent enforcement options. The course will be based near to Smithfield Market in the City of London and will also involve a visit to a working cooling tower and plant room at the City's Smithfield Poultry Market to see the theory put into practice. As a consequence there are limited spaces and we envisage room for no more than 10 people per session. If demand for the course is sufficient then subsequent courses can be arranged.

Cost

£75 per delegate. £50 for students. Lunch is included.
