This scheme is increasing the number of qualified food enforcement officers within London and maintains high professional standards of food safety enforcement in London.

The scheme enables a local authority to take on a trainee to undertake the Higher Certificate of Food Safety at Middlesex University.

The scheme can be flexible allowing boroughs to extend the training of the food enforcement officers to other areas such as health and safety as required.
