News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest information in one place, as soon as its published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

Feeds are also known as RSS - Really Simple Syndication. In essence, the feeds themselves are just web pages, designed to be read by computers rather than people.

London gastrointestinal investigation questionnaire

The Health Protection Agency (HPA), the Association of London Environmental Health Managers (Alehm) and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) created the joint London environmental health post.

It is known that the work of local authorities varies greatly; including for investigation of infectious diseases. The causes of variation includes: population, local social factors, economic factors, available resources, and the relationship between Environmental Health Departments (EHDs) and Health Protection Units (HPUs).

This questionnaire explores barriers to good communication between London EHDs and HPUs; to identify issues surrounding the notification system; and to review existing gastrointestinal investigation procedures in London.

Draft London Housing Strategy

The Greater London Authority Act 2007 gives the Mayor responsibility for producing London’s housing strategy. A draft housing strategy for public consultation was published on 21 May 2009.

Alehm and CIEH London are preparing a response, which is being collated by Tay Potier. Please pass any comments to Tay by mid-August 2009.
